Case
CNC cut from Surgical Grade 316L Stainless Steel, a material used extensively in the shipping and seafaring world, each Torpedo watch is highly resistant to corrosion. 42mm wide and 51mm lug to lug are perfect dimensions for a Do-Anything-Go-Anywhere watch for the modern man. A screw down crown with an engraved and luminous Iridium logo helps keep moisture out.
Bezel
Unidirectional 120-click bezel on the Torpedo will be your faithful companion for all your timing activities. Actual depth diving or timing your microwave pizza, do it with the Iridium Torpedo and it’s fully lumed bezel markers (BGW9 Superluminova).
Crystal
Taking cues from vintage diver’s watches we have purposefully used a domed sapphire crystal. It creates a mesmerising distortion right at the egde, while maintaining perfect visibility at all viewing angles. Sapphire crystals are also impervious to scratches due to regular wear.
Bracelet
Each Torpedo watch comes with a custom made fitted bracelet in Stainless Steel. 22m wide at the lug end, the bracelet features alternating beautiful brushed and polished elements. A secure diver’s clasp (Ratchet Buckle) holds it together and screws in the links make for easy sizing. Design wise we put our unique twist on the classic Jubilee style and came up with something different yet coherent.
Dial and Hands
Keeping it cool is the need of the hour and five carefully picked dial options give you tons of fun in these long and hot days. The hour markers are laser cut and filled with BGW9 Superluminova for an extremely bright glow and enhanced visibility.
Laser cut hour and minute hands feature bright BGW9 Superluminova for long lasting legibility in the darkest of environs.
Movement
We immediately latched on to the Miyota 9015 – it is reliable, accurate, and thin (only 3.9 mm), which fits perfectly in our case. It is also in a different performance class than the above mentioned movements, with a 28,800 bph (compared to 21,600 bhp). This yields a much smoother sweeping seconds hand.
